I started my career in 2002 little knowing that one day I would have my own blog. After working for all these years in various capacities I realised that there is a lot that I can share with the world. What better platform than the Internet.
Having started my career with door to door direct sales, the job at one of the prestigious BPO in Kolkata came as a great relief. Reason ? One : I had a cushioned chair to sit on. Two : The office was centrally air-conditioned. Third : ( the most important one ) Everyone spoke in English. Yes it was an international call centre. This is where I got so inspired with the industry that I made up my mind to make it a career. Days months and years kept passing by and I was way too persistent to give up on my dreams. I was witness to various ups and downs in the ITeS industry. Lot of my colleagues and friends changed industries for good but I kept at it. Slowly and steadily I kept moving forward. Today I am a part of companies in India and abroad and have a few brands that I own along with a couple of startup’s under my sleeves. I guess my ignorance to other industries around me cultivated the sheer persistence I possess which at the end of the road yielded favourable returns. Having all this I am still hungry for more!
The reason why I started this blog was to share my views and thoughts about how I have seen life and various stages in my career. In addition I was also looking for something that would utilise my time more efficiently. I have built a business to a position where it is now almost on auto pilot and I have spare time that I wish to use writing about what I have learnt during this journey of enriching experiences.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the companies and people that I have worked for, for providing me with the opportunity to do so. All my managers and colleagues who have always been extremely supportive all these years. All my friends and acquaintances who always stood by me while I kept making mistakes. Let me tell you all, yes to you too! If it were not for you I would not be what I am today. Everyone around me has always taught me something or the other. Thus I have things to write that I would be writing in this blog. It was always you who kept pushing me really hard and as a result I am who I am today.
